Southern Pines, N.C. - The Princeton men's golf team shot a final round 301 to finish 15th at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate, hosted by UNC Greensboro at the Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C., on Tuesday afternoon. Jason Gerken led the Princeton fivesome with a three-round 219 to tie for 40th overall in the field.
The tournament was won by Charlotte with a three-round 842. Lamar, Maryland, St. Mary's and East Carolina completed the top-five. Princeton's 884 was 26 strokes out of 10th.
Gerken shot a three-round 219 to finish five strokes above par in the tournament. John Sawin shot the Tigers' lowest round of the day, a 73, to finish at 221 (73-76-73) after three rounds tied for 58th. Jesse Dixon (73-73-77-223) tied for 67th, John Locke (72-83-75-230) was 86th, and Brent Herlihy (82-74-79-235) tied for 94th.
Princeton return to action the weekend of Sept. 24-25 at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate hosted by Elon.
