Princeton, N.J. - Princeton senior Lauren Ehrlichman was named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Tuesday following a seven-point weekend as the field hockey team split games with Yale and Connecticut. On Saturday, she scored Princeton's first three goals in a 5-1 win over Yale.
Ehrlichman scored Princeton's first four goals of the 2005 season, including three against Yale. Ehrlichman's unassisted goal just 7:15 into the game gave the Tigers a lead they would not relinquish. The senior added to her point total with an assist in Sunday's game against Connecticut as she fed freshman Kristin Schwab early in the first half.
She leads the team and the Ivy League with nine points this season, but will likely fall from the lead as she will miss the next four games on the schedule while she competes for the United States at Field Hockey Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile. Stay tuned to GoPrincetonTigers.com over the next two weeks as she will be sending updates and journal entries about her experience at the tournament.
Princeton returns to action without Ehrlichman on Saturday at Dartmouth.
