Sunset Beach, N.C. - Jason Gerken shot rounds of 69, 72 and 71 for a three-round 212 to place fifth at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate last weekend in Sunset Beach, N.C. Gerken led the Tigers to an eighth-place finish in the team standings.
Princeton's best round was it's opening round, a 287. The Tigers then shot identical 297's in the second and third round of the tournament for an 881. That score was 30 shots behind first-pace Elon, the tournament's host, in first place. Western Carolina, Pfeiffer, Wofford and Radford completed the top-five. Princeton was seven stroke out of fourth.
John Sawin came next for Princeton individually in 20th after a 218 (70-75-73). John Locke tied for 43rd at 223 (72-76-75). Jesse Dixon shot a 230 (76-76-78) and Brent Herlihy posted a 235 (79-74-82).
Princeton is off for the next two weekends before returning to play at the Earl Yestingmeier Classic at Ball State on Oct. 3-4.
