PRINCETON - Princeton women's hockey senior Sarah Butsch was named the ECAC Hockey League's Player of the Week after she scored the game-winning goals in back-to-back wins against Colgate and Cornell. The goals ran her goal-scoring streak to four games.
The honor was the second Player of the Week Award for Butsch in her career. Both honors came after a Princeton trip to Central New York to face Colgate and Cornell. Last year she earned the honor after she scored three goals in 2:38 to erase a 5-3 Cornell lead and give Princeton a 6-5 overtime victory at Cornell.
This year Butsch completed a Princeton comeback in a 2-1 win at Colgate. After falling behind after one period, junior Lim Pearce scored to knot the score in the second and Butsch scored to go ahead 2-1 midway through the period. A day later Butsch scored to give Princeton a 3-0 lead in the first period. The goal stood up as the game winner in the 5-2 win.
