Tigers Defeat Manhattan 4-2, On Final Day of ECAC Invitational

The Princeton men's tennis team earned sixth place at the ECAC Division I Invitational by defeating Manhattan, 4-2, in a match played Sunday afternoon in Princeton. The match was moved from the National Tennis Center due to inclement weather in New York.
The Tigers, the No. 7 seed at the tournament, won four of six singles matches to ensure that doubles would not be played. The most impressive wins came at No. 2, where Sratha Saengsuwarn lost just three games in a straight-set victory over Mihai Nichifor, at at No. 6, where Jonathan Leslie defeated Filip Szymik 6-1 and 6-4.
At No. 3 Alex Vuckovic also won in straight sets, defeating Peter Czink, while Alex Krueger-Wyman lost the first set before coming back to defeat Diego Alvarado 6-3 in the third for the clinching match.
Manhattan was the No. 11 seed at the tournament and had upset No. 6 Harvard in the first round to enter the winner's bracket. Princeton finished 2-1 in the tournament, defeating No. 10 seed Boston College on Friday before losing to No. 2 seed Penn in Saturday's quarterfinals.
