Champion Selected to Compete at 2006 Speedo Top 40 Tournament

Princeton women's water polo freshman Phoebe Champion, a member of the U.S. National Junior Team, was one of 40 players selected to play in the 2006 Speedo Top 40 Tournament.
The annual event features the top 40 players from the U.S. Water Polo National Teams and colleges across the nation. The event will take place November 3-5, 2006 at USA Water Polo's National Training Center in Los Alamitos, Calif.
This event features the nation's best female water polo players, as selected by the USA Water Polo Women's National Team Coaching Staff.
Champion spent the summer of 2006 playing and training with the U.S. National Junior Team in tournaments in Greece and Italy. The team claimed silver at the Pythia Cup in Chalandri, Greece. Champion scored goals in wins over Greece and Germany.
