Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Hoya Invite

BEALLSVILLE, Md. -- Juan Pablo Candela led all Tigers for the first time in his young career as Princeton finished ninth of 12 teams at its last fall tournament, the Hoya Invitational hosted by Georgetown at The Members Club at Four Streams.
Candela tied for 11th at +8 with a 74 and 76 (150), while senior Brent Herlihy tied for 17th at +10 (75-77-152). Fellow senior John Sawin was a shot back, tying for 24th (77-76-153), while sophomore Andrew Maliniak finished at +21, tying for 54th (85-78-163), and freshman Jake Skinner posted a 24-over finish with his 82 and 84 (166), placing 61st.
Georgetown won the event at +32 collectively, one shot ahead of William and Mary and two shots ahead of Penn State. The Nittany Lions' Robert Rohanna cut five shots off his first-round 72 to post the tournament low round of 67 and win the event at 3-under.
