April 15, 2007 | Men's Golf
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Senior John Sawin won the 36-hole Princeton Invitational by two shots over Keegan Bradley of St. John's as the Red Storm edged out Princeton by four shots for the team title Saturday.
Sawin finished at -4 in the last tournament before next weekend's Ivy League Championships, carding a 70 and 68.
The tournament was due to be 54 holes with a final round played Sunday, but expected inclement weather caused the tournament to be shortened to two rounds.
Bradley's carded the low round of 67 through the first 18 holes, but shot a 73 in the second round to finish at -2, allowing Sawin to come from behind. Two other golfers broke 70 as Columbia's August Quartararo and Towson's Jeff Castle both turned in first-round 69s. Sawin and Bradley were the only players to finish under par for the two rounds.
St. John's won the team title at +15. Princeton (+19), Columbia (+20), Saint Joseph's (+26), Towson (+28), Penn (+28), George Washington (+28), Georgetown (+30), George Mason (+34), St. Bonaventure (+35), Temple (+39), Navy (+41), Rutgers (+47), Villanova (+51) and Rider (+64) completed the field.
