The Tigers started things off with a 2-2 tie at Boston College, the team's third-straight season-opening tie. Junior Marykate Oakley, one of five Tigers to tally three points for the opening weekend, scored both Princeton goals in the tie.
A day later Princeton opened its league schedule with a game at travel-partner Quinnipiac, and came away with a 6-3 win. Five Tigers posted multiple points in the game, led by senior Dina McCumber's two goals. Seniors Kim Pearce and Laura Watt, along with sophomores Annie Greenwood and Christina Foster, all added two points in the win.
Princeton retained its ranking of ninth in both polls. Friday's opponent St. Lawrence is ranked third in the USCHO.com poll and fourth in the USA Today Poll. Clarkson is not ranked.

Princeton hosts St. Lawrence on Friday night in a battle of the top two teams in the league from last season. A year ago, St. Lawrence took three of four points from Princeton as the teams tied 1-1 in Princeton and the Saints won 3-1 in Canton. In the game at Princeton, Pearce scored the game-tying goal with five minutes remaining to forge the 1-1 deadlock. In Canton, Greenwood scored in the second period to cut St. Lawrence's lead in half but the Tigers could draw no closer as the Saints scored into an open net.
Princeton is 21-15-2 all-time against St. Lawrence, although the Saints lead the series in Princeton by a 9-7-2 record. St. Lawrence has controlled the series of late, going 7-0-1 in the last eight meetings.
Princeton leads its all-time series with Clarkson 6-0-0, sweeping the Golden Knights in each of the last two seasons. Last year, Watt and Pearce gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead in an eventual 2-1 win on home ice in November, then in February, Greenwood broke a scoreless tie in overtime to hand the Tigers the 1-0 win. Three of the four games played between the two since Clarkson joined the ECACHL in 2004 have been decided by one goal.
Princeton continues its league schedule next weekend with games on Saturday and Sunday against Ivy rivals Brown and Yale.
