Princeton wrapped sole possession of the league title last weekend with its win and a loss by Brown. Princeton is 6-0 in the league with a game remaining. Brown and Penn are tied for second, both at 3-2. The win extended Princeton's league win streak to 11 games dating back to a loss to Penn at the end of the 2004 season.
After Harvard opened the scoring, the Tigers clawed back with sophomore Leah Hoagland scoring to tie the game, and sophomore Holly McGarvie providing the game winner in the second half. Freshman Tina Bortz closed the scoring and senior Allison Nemeth made five saves.
A day later, sophomore Katie Kinzer provided the game's only goal in Princeton's 1-0 win over American. Her goal came 10 minutes into the second half and was set up by Hoagland. Nemeth made 10 saves for her third shutout of the season.
With McGarvie and Kinzer each scoring over the weekend, they remained tied for the team lead in goals, while McGarvie holds the lead in points thanks to one more assist this season. Junior Paige Schmidt, Bortz and junior Micaela Vie Brock round out the top five.
The Tigers will look to extend their win streak on Sunday afternoon against Rutgers. Princeton is 17-3-1 all-time against Rutgers and is 12-1-1 against the Scarlet Knights at home.
