Schmidt Named to NFHCA All-America Team

PRINCETON -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association named Junior Paige Schmidt a third-team All-America on Monday. Schmidt, the 2006 Ivy League Player of the Year had five goals and eight assists in the 2006 season.
Schmidt, who was named first-team All-Region along with several of her teammates, was also a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection this season. Schmidt's eight assists and 18 points ranked second on the Tigers. The junior started all 17 games for the Tigers and led the League in shots, totaling 71.
Princeton was 12-7 overall and 7-0 in the Ivy League in 2006 as the Tigers won the Ivy League for the 15th time and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament with a 3-2 overtime win over third-ranked Old Dominion in the first round of the tournament.
Schmidt was named a second-team All-America by womensfieldhockey.com. That organization recognized her as a third-team selection in 2005. They also recognized freshman Kaitlyn Perrelle as a member of their national all-rookie team.
