Tiger Basketball Hosts Marshall, St. Francis in Its Final Home Weekend of 2006

The day will begin with men's basketball at 4 p.m. as the Tigers (6-3) take on Conference USA member, the Marshall Thundering Herd. Conference USA is currently in the top 10 of the college basketball RPI rankings, which utilizes a formula to determine the top programs and conferences in college basketball. The Tigers are led by the nation's second stingiest defense allowing only 51.8 points per game, including holding VMI, the top scoring offense in the country (102.3 ppg), to only 68 points. On offense the team is led by the steady play of freshman point guard Marcus Schroeder (38 mpg, 3.1 apg) and the sharp shooting of senior Kyle Koncz, hitting on nearly 45 percent of his 3 point field goals.
Then at 7 p.m. Princeton (4-6) takes on St. Francis (NY) in women's basketball action. The Tiger women are currently led by junior Megan Cowher (16.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg) and senior Casey Lockwood (11.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg) for an offense that averages nearly 63 points per game. Cowher has led the Tigers in scoring in all but two of their games this season.
The Princeton men return home in 2007 to take on a second Conference USA opponent, Rice University, on Saturday, January 6 on Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day. The tap is set for 2 p.m. The Tiger women return to action at Jadwin to open their Ivy League schedule, in defense of their 2005-06 title, at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 12 against Columbia.
Tickets for men's contests (excluding Rutgers and Penn) are $10 in advance for adults and $6 for youth. All tickets at the gate are $12. Tickets for all women's contests can be purchased at the gate and are $5 for adults and $3 for youth.
