No. 18 Women's Water Polo Opens Season With Win

PRINCETON - The 18th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team opened the season with a solid 14-3 win against Villanova on Friday night at DeNunzio Pool. Eleven players scored goals in the win, including two goals from Claire Jacobson and Courtney Mee. Princeton faces Marist and No. 17 Indiana tomorrow as the Princeton Invitational continues.
Princeton jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first period of Friday's game, thanks to goals from Anne-Lise Maag, Jacobson, Mee, Elyse Colgan, Karina Reyner and Megan Donahue. Princeton extended the lead with five goals in the second to take a 11-1 lead at the half.
Natalie Kim made three saves through three quarters in the cage, while Shannon DeVore made a save in the final period.
