Tigers Sweep CWPA Opponents in Women's Water Polo

PRINCETON - The 15th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team extended its season-opening winning streak to seven games with conference wins against George Washington and No. 17 Bucknell on Saturday at DeNunzio Pool. Samantha Shaughnessy led the attack with three goals in the first game, while Elyse Colgan had three goals in the second game.
The wins moved Princeton to 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in CWPA play.
The Tigers started the day with a 10-3 win against George Washington. The game was tight through halftime as Princeton led 2-1 at the midway point. The Tigers opened things up in the second half to pull away for the win.
Shaughnessy's three goals led the Princeton effort as she was one of seven Tigers to score. Colgan added two in the game. Natalie Kim made seven saves in three quarters for the win.
In the second game Colgan led the way with three goals in a 6-5 Princeton win. Princeton eld 4-2 at the half and was able to stay ahead of the Bison throughout the second half for the win. Jazmin Brown scored twice in the win and Kim made seven saves in the game.
