LEWISBURG, Pa. - The 15th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team split a pair of CWPA games at Bucknell, falling to Maryland 5-1 in the opening game of the day and defeating the host Bison in the second game 7-6. Karina Reyner scored goals in each game, while Carolina Ardila scored twice in the Bucknell game.
Princeton is now 8-1 overall and 3-1 in CWPA action. The loss to Maryland was Princeton's first of the season and came after winning its first seven games.
The Tigers fell behind early in the opening game and could never get back in it as Maryland pulled away for the 5-1 win. Reyner scored the lone goal of the game while Natalie Kim made nine saves in the cage.
In the nightcap, the Tigers edged Bucknell by a goal for the second time in as many weekends. Ardila scored twice in the game, while five others each added a single goal. Kim stopped seven shots for the win.
Princeton is back in action next Saturday against Santa Clara and UC Santa Cruz as it opens its Spring Break trip to California.
