Jackson's Four Points Lift Princeton to 6-1 Win

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The fifth-ranked Princeton women's hockey team scored two goals in each period in defeating Union 6-1 on Saturday afternoon for its fifth-straight win. Senior Heather Jackson led the Tiger attack with a goal and three assists, while freshman Annie Greenwood scored twice in the contest.
Princeton improved to 17-6-4 with the win and is now 13-3-2 in league play. The win assured Princeton of home ice and a top four seed when the ECACHL playoffs begin in two weekends time.
After Union jumped to a 1-0 lead 6:30 into the game, Greenwood knotted the game at 1-1 at 13:17 with her 23rd goal of the season from Jackson and junior Laura Watt. Princeton made the score 2-1 seven seconds later when freshman Katherine Dineen netted the eventual game winner. Her third goal of the season was set up by freshman Christine Foster.
Princeton added to its lead in the second period when Greenwood scored on the power play 33 seconds into the frame, and made it 4-1 with Jackson's fifth goal of the year at 8:22.
Sophomore's Brittany Salmon and Marykate Oakley added goals in the third period.
Senior netminder Roxanne Gaudiel made 18 saves to notch the win for Princeton.
The Tigers are back in action next Friday night when they host Brown.
