PRINCETON - Princeton senior goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel was named the ECAC Hockey League Goaltender of the Week on Monday for her two wins over the weekend. Gaudiel's record climbed to 17-5-4 with the wins and she recorded her third shutout of the season.
Gaudiel backstopped Princeton to its third-straight four-point league weekend, by stopping 32 of a possible 34 shots against Brown and Yale. On Friday night, she made 12 saves to down the Bears and avenge a one-goal loss at Brown in early January. Saturday afternoon, Gaudiel's 20 saves blanked the Bulldogs and secured the Ivy League championship for the Tigers.
The award is the third this season for Gaudiel, who was named the Goaltender of the Week on Nov. 21 and Dec. 12. She also was named to the league's Honor Roll on Feb. 6.
In addition, senior Heather Jackson was named to the ECACHL Honor Roll for the second-straight weekend.
Princeton begins its quest for the ECACHL tournament championship this weekend when it hosts Colgate in a best-of-three quarterfinal series at Baker Rink. The winner will advance to the league's championship weekend, which will be held at the site of the highest remaining seed.
