Top-Ranked Open Women Sweep Field During Busy Home Regatta

PRINCETON - The No. 1 Princeton women's open crew moved to 5-0 on the young season with a sweep of Rutgers, Columbia and Georgetown Saturday at Lake Carnegie. Princeton won six races in six attempts, including a better than 22-second victory in the first varsity race.
One week after defeating Brown and Michigan at home, the Tigers cruised to victory Saturday. They finished in 6:21.8, well ahead of second place Columbia (6:44.2). Georgetown placed third, edging Rutgers by 1.4 seconds.
Princeton's closest margin of victory was seven seconds, which came in the varsity fours, where Princeton's time of 7:33.6 topped Georgetown's time of 7:40.6. The second closest time of the day came from the novice eight, which won its race in 6:32.9.
Princeton will stay home next weekend to compete for the Class of '75 Cup against Radcliffe and Cornell. The first race will begin at 9 a.m.
