Princeton distance runners David Nightingale and Michael Maag, in the 5,000 meters, and Frank Macreery, in the 10,000, all had standout performances at the prestigious Mt. San Antonio College Relays this past week in California.
Both Nightingale and Maag finished in the top 10 of the 5,000 OD University/Open race at Mt. SAC. Nightingale's time of 14:01.01 was good for fifth place in the race and was the second-best time in Princeton history in that event. Maag was just behind, in eighth place in 14:05.22, a freshman record in the event at Princeton. Both times were qualifying times for NCAA regionals.
Macreery extended to the 10,000 meters at Mt. SAC, running in the Invitational University/Open race, and he qualified for NCAA's later in the year with a time of 29:03.65. The senior finished seventh in the race and fifth among collegiate runners.
