PRINCETON - Juniors Kim Pearce and Laura Watt have been named the 2006-07 team captains of the Princeton women's hockey team. The announcement came at the conclusion of the team's annual banquet on Saturday night. Both Pearce and Watt were named first-team All-ECACHL in 2006.
"The careers Kim Pearce and Laura Watt at Princeton have been nothing short of spectacular," says head coach Jeff Kampersal. "Athletically and academically, they get it. They are responsible and committed to their teammates. I am confident that we have the right people driving and co-piloting our 2006-07 bus next season."
Pearce is coming off a junior season in which she led the Tigers in scoring with 41 points, bringing her career total to 93 points in 95 games wearing the Orange and Black. The Tigers' force up front, Pearce was named the Ivy League Player of the Year and was a first-team All-ECACHL selection.
Watt was also a first-team all-league selection as she tied for second among league defensemen in scoring. Her 21 points ranked her sixth on the team in scoring and second among the team's blueliners. Watt quarterbacked the Tiger power play as 17 of her 21 points came with the man advantage.
