Ferrell Sets School Record in 5,000 Meters at Sam Howell Invitational

All-America Cack Ferrell set a school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:05.52 on the way to winning that event at the Sam Howell Invitational Friday night at Weaver Track & Field Stadium.
Ferrell won the race by more than 20 seconds. The second-place finisher was a teammate, Catha Mullen, who ran the 12 1/2 laps in 16:26.25.
On the men's side, Princeton also had a strong performance in the 5,000 meters. Senior Frank Macreery was the top collegiate runner in the event, running the race in a time of 14:12.91.
The Sam Howell Invitational concludes Saturday with events both on the track and in the field.
