Andrews Qualifies for NCAA Championship in Steeplechase

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Suzanne Andrews became the second Princeton women's track athlete to qualify for next month's NCAA championship by finishing in fifth place overall in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Saturday's NCAA East Regional at Irwin Belk Track.
Andrews, running in the third heat of three, ran the 7 1/2 laps in a time of 10:21.92. She finished less than a second behind third-place finisher Molly Landreth of Penn State.
The NCAA championship meet takes place June 7-10 in Sacramento, Calif.
Junior Catha Mullen also ran for Princeton on Saturday, finishing in seventh place in the 1,500-meter final. Mullen finished the race in a time of 4:24.95, almost three seconds better than her preliminary time from Friday.
Princeton's Jess Kloss was a competitor in the pole vault on Saturday, but did not clear the initial height of 3.66 meters (12 feet).
