Ferrell Named To ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams in Track & Field

Princeton senior distance runner Frank Macreery has been named a first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection for District II in voting announced Thursday.
Macreery, a Brewster, N.Y., native, will now be eligible for national CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, to be announced later this month. District II encompasses the states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia as well as the District of Columbia.
Macreery, a computer science major at Princeton, was the champion in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters at last's month's Ivy League Heptagonal meet. He will compete in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA championship meet in Sacramento, Calif., next week. A team captain for the Tigers, he also earned All-America honors at the NCAA cross country championship in November and placed third overall in the Ivy League Heptagonal cross country championship in October.
On the women's side, senior distance runner Cack Ferrell earned second-team Academic All-District honors for the Tigers. Ferrell, a Minneapolis native and history major at Princeton, is a five-time All-America and the school recordholder in three different events.
Ferrell will also compete in next week's NCAA championships for Princeton, running in the 5,000 meters.
