Macreery Earns All-America Honors, Finishes 10th in NCAA 10,000 Meters

SACRAMENTO - Princeton senior Frank Macreery concluded his collegiate career with a stellar performance in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earning All-America honors and finishing 10th overall in the event late Thursday night at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex.
Macreery, the only Ivy Leaguer in the 26-man field, finished the 25 laps at Hornet Stadium in a time of 29:21.70. His time was just six seconds behind ninth place and less than 45 seconds behind the winning time.
Arkansas's Josephat Boit pulled away from the pack midway through the race and eventually won the race in a time of 28:37.64, four seconds better than Providence's Martin Fagan. All eight scorers in the event finished the race in under 29 minutes.
On the women's side, senior Cack Ferrell will run in her final collegiate race on Friday night, participating in the 5,000-meter final. Ferrell, who had the eighth-best qualifying time in Wednesday's preliminaries, will hit the Hornet Stadium track at 10 p.m. ET.
