November 12, 2007 | Women's Ice Hockey
Princeton junior goaltender Kristen Young was named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week on Monday for the second time this season. Young had a 48-save weekend as Princeton swept Boston University and No. 1 New Hampshire.
On Saturday, Young made 26 saves leading the Tigers to a 4-2 at Boston University is a performance that included a game-high 12 saves in the third period. A day later, Young was superb, making 21 saves to lead Princeton to a 2-1 win over the nation's top-ranked team, New Hampshire. The win was Princeton's first-ever at UNH as Princeton was 0-20-1 all-time on the road against the Wildcats.
The award was Young's second such honor of the season as she was also the Goaltender of the Week following Princeton's first weekend of the season. In addition, she was named the USCHO.com Defensive Player of the Week.
Senior forward Lizzie Keady scored a goal in each game, including the game winner at New Hampshire, and was named to the league's honor roll.
Young, Keady and the Tigers return to action next Friday night when Cornell visits Hobey Baker Rink at 7 p.m.
