Tigers Compete at Princeton Invitational

A strong performance in the closing 4X400 meters and wins in the distance events highlighted Princeton action at the 2007 Princeton Inviational Saturday afternoon at Jadwin Gym.
The Tigers' mile relay team of Melissa Swigert, Leanne Bellar, Karen Okigbo and Agatha Offorjebe finished the race in a time of 3:50.25, more than five seconds better than the second-place finisher in the event.
Princeton also won the 1,000 and 3,000-meter races and the mile on Saturday. Ali Warren was the winner in the mile, completing the eight laps in 5:06.86, while Avigail Kifer won the 1,000 in a time of 3:07.24. The Tigers had the top three finishers in the 3,000, led by Megan Brandeland's winning time of 10:27.24.
In the field events, Marta Pardo won the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, three inches. Jess Kloss tied for the top spot in the pole vault with a clearance of 12 feet, 1 1/2 inches.
Princeton also took the top two spots in the 500 meters, with Liz Bergold winning in 1:19.36, and the top three spots in the 800 meters, with Mawusi Arnett winning in a time of 2:16.06.
