Park Reaches NCAA Provisional Qualifying Mark at Princeton Invitational

Princeton pole vaulter Andrew Park reached the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA indoor championships to highlight Tiger performances at the 2007 Princeton Invitational held Saturday afternoon in Jadwin Gym.
Park's final clearance was 5.20 meters (17 feet, 3/4 inch), equaling the provisional qualifying standard in the event. The NCAA indoor championships will be held March 9-10 at the University of Arkansas.
The Tigers' 4X400-meter relay team was also a winner to close the meet on Saturday. Tom Zozokos, Bill Foran, Alex Julie and Brian Li-A-Ping ran the mile in a time of 3.22.86.
In the mile, the Tigers' Bryan Sharkey and Rob Grote were the top two finishers in times of 4:14.42 and 4:17.20 respectively. Princeton also had the top two collegiate finishers in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday as Chris Vasich finished in 8.47 seconds and Duane Hynes ran in 8.65 seconds.
In the field events, Scott Henkelman's long jump of 23 feet, 3 1/2 inches was the best collegiate mark, as was Alex Pessala's weight throw of 60 feet, 6 1/2 inches.
