Princeton Defeats Bucknell in Water Polo

PRINCETON -- The 18th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team scored at least three goals in all four quarters to defeat Bucknell 15-12 on Friday night at DeNunzio Pool. The two teams were tied at 3-3 following the first quarter, but Princeton poured in nine goals over the next two periods to take a 12-9 advantage into the final stanza.
Seven Tigers scored goals in the win, led by a game-high five from senior Elyse Colga. Freshman Phoebe Champion added four goals and classmate Lauren Sabb had a pair. Four others chipped in with single goals.
Princeton improved to 8-4 with the win, which was its home and league opener. Princeton is now 1-0 in the CWPA Southern Division and will play its second league game tonight against Maryland, a team which Princeton has already defeated twice this season.
