Tigers Climb to 9-4 by Edging Maryland
March 10, 2007 | Women's Water Polo
Missing starting goalkeeper Natalie Kim, the defense of the Princeton women's water polo team and its surprise goalkeeper Samantha Shaughnessy stymied Maryland in an 8-4 win on Saturday night at DeNunzio Pool. Shaughnessy, who played less than a quarter in goal in her collegiate career, made 12 saves for the win.
The Tigers took a 3-1 lead at the half and kept the margin through the final two periods as the Tigers climbed to 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the league. Phoebe Champion and Elyse Colgan both scored two goals in the game and four others added single goals.
