Maag, Nightingale Perform Well at UW Last Chance Meet
March 04, 2007 | Men's Track and Field
Princeton's David Nightingale and Michael Maag traveled across the country Saturday to run the mile at the University of Washington's Last Chance Meet, and each again ran NCAA provisional qualifying times in the event.
Nightingale was third among collegiate runners in a time of 4:01.61, while Maag was right behind in fourth in 4:02.40 in the meet held at UW's Dempsey Indoor Track. The NCAA provisional qualifying time is an even 4:04.
"Both David and Michael ran well," said assistant coach Steve Dolan, who was in Seattle for the event. "We will find out if they qualify for the NCAA meet when the selections are announced on Monday."
The UW Last Chance Meet was one of nine meets held across the country to give athletes one more opportunity to earn either automatic or qualifying marks into next week's NCAA championship meet, which takes place at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
