Seven to Join Women's Water Polo Next Season

A class of seven incoming freshmen will join the Princeton women's water polo team next season as the Class of 2011. The seven-member class will join the nine returning members from this season's team that is currently prepping for the Eastern Championships.
Lauren Brunner
Driver ? Sacramento, Calif. ? St. Francis High School
Lauren Brunner spent four seasons as a varsity player at St. Francis High School. As senior captain, she helped lead her team to its second consecutive Section Championship, the first two in school history. She was named first-team all-section and first-team all-league three years in a row, and was honored as the St. Francis Varsity Player of the Year in 2006. Brunner has been a seven-year member of the American River Water Polo Club. At Junior Olympics in 2006, she helped her team to a fifth-place finish, it best ever finish.
Sarah Hutchinson
Driver ? Newport Beach, Calif. ? Corona del Mar High School
Sarah Hutchinson was a member of the CIF Division II Champion Teams in 2004, 2005, and 2006 at Corona del Mar. In her junior year, the team placed first at the Santa Barbara Tournament of the Champions. Also as a junior, she was selected to the All CIF Division II First Team and the Pacific Coast League Second Team. In her senior season, she was named to the SoCal Invitational All-Tournament Team, All CIF Division I First Team, and the Pacific Coast League First Team. She also played water polo for the Corona del Mar Water Polo club team, which medaled at the Pan-Pacific Games in Auckland, New Zealand. She also won four letters swimming at Corona del Mar High School.
Cari Levine
Driver ? Newport Beach, Calif. ? Corona del Mar High School
Cari Levine also was a member of three consecutive CIF Division II Championships at Corona del Mar, and was a three-year varsity starter for the team. She was named to the first team of CIF Southern Section Division II as a junior, and to the second team as a sophomore. Levine has also been chosen to the Pacific Coast All-League team the past two years. Levine was selected to the USA National Youth Team in both 2005 and 2006. Levine also was a four-year varsity swimmer and has reached the CIF finals in both the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly."
Christina Michel
Goalkeeper ? San Marcos, Calif. ? The Bishop's School
Christina Michel has earned three consecutive CIF Championships and three league Championships at The Bishop's School as the team's goalkeeper. Michel also plays for San Diego Shores club team and has medaled three times at the Junior Olympics, winning silver in 2006 and bronze in 2003 and 2004. She was also on the Zone team in 2006 and was one of the top-six goalies at Junior National Tryout.
Julie Phillips
Utility ? Auckland, New Zealand ? St. Cuthbert's College
Julie Phillips comes to Princeton from St. Cuthbert's College in New Zealand where she was co-captain and most valuable player on her school's team. Phillips has played for the team from 2002-2006 and lettered the last three years. Her team placed third at the National Secondary Schools Championship in 2006 and Phillips was named the Best Offensive Player of the Tournament. She also won the school's Gold Award for Outstanding Service to Sport and the trophy for Best Overall Involvement in Sport at school. Phillips is a member of New Zealand's National Under-19 team.
Sierra Schelegle

Sierra Schelegle has played Water Polo for seven years and has been a four-year water player for a Davis High School team that won two section championships. As a senior, she served as a co-captain, while earning first-team all-league, first-team all-metro, and second-team all-section. She also won four letters as a swimmer and in 2006 was as an
All-America in the 200-Free relay.
Tanya Wilcox
2M/2MD ? Palo Alto, Calif ? Palo Alto High School
Tanya Wilcox was a member of the Palo Alto High School team that won the SCVAL league championship in a double-overtime game. The team placed third in CCS. Wilcox was voted the team's Most Valuable Player of her high school team and of the SCVAL league. She was also a first-team All-CCS selection. Wilcox is a member of the National Youth Team Travel Squad.
