The Princeton women's hockey resumes its ECAC Hockey schedule this weekend when Yale and Brown visit Hobey Baker Rink. Princeton is unbeaten in its last four games and skated to a pair of ties last weekend with ninth-ranked UConn.
Princeton is just past the midway point of its season and sits right at .500 both overall and in the league. The Tigers began the season with a three-game unbeaten streak, but three straight losses sent Princeton under .500. The Tigers have gone 6-4-1 since and their sweep of Union and Rensselaer moved the team to 7-7-4 overall and 5-5-1 in league play.
Princeton allowed a single goal in last weekend's ties against UConn. In total Princeton has allowed just a single goal in its last 250 minutes of action. That goal came in Saturday's 1-1 tie against Connecticut, which came a day after the teams played to a 0-0 draw.
Junior goaltender Kristen Young continued her strong streak by making 31 saves over the weekend and recording her fourth shutout of the season and her third in four games.
Offensively Princeton was limited to a single goal over the weekend, which came from senior Brittany Salmon. Senior Marykate Oakley assisted on the goal. The assist was Oakley's team-leading 18th point of the season. The senior has 85 points in her career and 15 away from the century mark. Salmon has 12 points this season and it tied for third on the team in scoring.
Princeton faces former travel-partner Yale on Friday night. The Bulldogs are 5-6-4 overall and 3-5-2 in the league. Yale is 2-1-2 in its last five games and won in its last outing, 1-0 in overtime, against Northeastern.
The Tigers take on Brown on Saturday afternoon. Brown is 1-11-3 overall and 1-7-2 in the league with its lone win coming at Union in its season opener. Brown has ties in two of its last three games, at Yale and Northeastern.
Princeton is off for 17 days following the weekend and returns to action on Jan. 29 at Quinnipiac.
