Men's Golf Cuts Sunday Scores to Finish 12th at Columbia Invite
October 26, 2008 | Men's Golf
GALLOWAY, N.J. -- Andrew Maliniak led the Princeton men's golf team with a 1-over 72 Sunday as the Tigers rose three spots to finish 12th at the Columbia Invitational at Galloway National Golf Club in their last fall tournament.
Princeton was in 15th after the first and second rounds of the three-day event, but all four Tiger scorers turned in their lowest cards of the weekend Sunday to make up some ground.
TCU won the 15-team event at +42, nine shots ahead of Florida. The top players from each of those schools, TCU's Tom Hoge and Florida's Tim McKenney, tied to win the individual title at +8 for the weekend. The tournament drew a diverse field as teams sought to get a sneak preview of the NCAA East Regional to be held at the Galloway course in the spring.
