Wind, Weather Lead Men's Golfers to Seventh-Place Finish at Princeton Invitational
April 12, 2009 | Men's Golf
PRINCETON -- After standing in third place after one round at the Princeton Invitational, the men's golf team dropped to seventh at the rain-shortened 36-hole event at Springdale Golf Club.
Four of five Tigers saw their scores increase from Saturday's round. Sophomore Eric Salazar, who finished as the top Tiger at +8, fell to an eighth-place tie after being one shot back of medalist honors at Saturday's close.
One golfer who stayed steady was Rutgers' James Arbes, who finished atop the leaderboard at +3 to lead the Scarlet Knights to a nine-shot win over Yale in the 14-team field. In all, 44 of the 74 golfers had higher scores Sunday than Saturday.
