The Big Green padded its lead late in the opening period when Jenna Cunningham converted on an odd-man rush. Amanda Trunzo and Maggie Kennedy worked the puck up ice and upon converging on the Princeton goal, dropped it back to Cunningham, who trailed the play and scored with a shot high to the glove side.

Princeton finally broke through at 7:25 with a power-play goal from freshman Heather Landry. Senior defensemen Stephanie Denino and Katherine Dineen moved the puck along the blueline. Dineen then shot and the puck got through Dartmouth goaltender Carli Clemis but laid in the crease until Landry pushed it over the line for her first collegiate goal.
Landry then moved Princeton within a goal with 4:10 remaining with another power-play goal. Landry gained the puck in the corner and sent it to Denino at the point.
