#7 BU Shuts Out Women's Hockey 2-0

PRINCETON -- Boston University's Erin Seman's goal late in the first period proved to be enough as the Terriers defeated the Princeton's women's hockey team 2-0 on Friday night at Hobey Baker Rink.
Seman scored the only goal of the opening period as both team's put 12 shots on goal. Her goal at 14:11 came on the third rebound attempt of a scramble in front of the Princeton goal. Melissa Anderson had two shots stopped, but Seman's backhander found its way by Princeton senior netminder Kristen Young to put the Terriers up.
Boston University added an insurance tally six seconds into the third period as Jillian Kirchner scored fourth of the year from Jenelle Kohanchuk. BU held serve from there, keeping Princeton in check and winning 2-0.
Princeton outshot Boston University 30-27 but was unable to crack Terrier goaltender Allyse Wilcox, who made 30 saves for the shutout.
BU is now 6-2-3 overall while the Tigers fell to 2-5-0. Princeton completes the weekend tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Vermont. There will be a “Skate with the Tigers” event following the game and fans are encouraged to bring their skates with them to the game.
