Yale Sweeps Volleyball To Clinch 2008 Ivy League Title
November 15, 2008 | Women's Volleyball
Despite 14 kills and 12 digs from Parker Henritze, the Princeton women's volleyball team watched its dreams of a second straight Ivy League championship slip away in a 3-0 home loss to Yale. The Tigers went 0-for-5 on game balls in the first two sets and fell 28-26, 28-26, 25-22.
With the win, Yale improved to 19-4, 13-1 in the league and clinched a berth in the 2008 NCAA tournament. Princeton is 17-4, 11-2 and will conclude its season Wednesday night at Dillon Gym against Penn.
Henritze led the team with 14 kills, while fellow outside Sheena Donohue had 11 kills and 14 digs. Senior Bailey Robinson had 35 kills, while freshman Hillary Ford recorded 17 digs.
Princeton had three set points in the opener and two more in the second game, but Yale was able to sideout each time and eventually pulled out both. The Bulldogs jumped out to a big lead in the third, but Princeton fought back to cut the deficit to two points, but it would get no closer.
