Maag and Leung Represent Princeton at National Championship

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (11/24/08) ? Senior Michael Maag and freshman Brian Leung represented Princeton at the NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship on Monday, Nov. 24.
Maag, running in his second straight championship, finished in 30:43.7 for 79th place. He shaved over a second off of his time from last year's championship race when he clocked in at 30:44.5.
Freshman Brian Leung ran in just his second 10k of the season and improved on his time considerably. Leung crossed the line at 31:04.2, besting his time of 32:19 which he ran at regional's last week.
Oregon won the national championship and was led by the Galen Rupp who claimed the individual title with a time of 29:04. Rupp trailed Samuel Chelanga for most of the race, but pushed ahead down the final stretch to pass Chelanga for first place. Chalenga clocked in at 29:08.0. Third-place finished Andrew Ledwith of Iona, came in 17 seconds later at 29:25.4.
