Women's Water Polo Splits Second Day of Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON -- The 18th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team split its two games on Sunday at the Princeton Invitational, winning 14-10 over Ivy-rival Harvard, and losing 9-5 to 15th-ranked Michigan. Sophomore Lauren Sabb scored five goals in the two games.
Princeton lost its first game of the day by a 9-5 score to Michigan. The Wolverines jumped to a 4-2 lead in the opening quarter and led the whole way for the 9-5 win. Sabb scored three goals in the win and freshmen Julie Phillips and Lauren Brunner each scored a goal. Senior goalkeeper Natalie Kim made 11 saves.
In the second game, the Tigers pulled out a lead in the second quarter and maintained that advantage through the second half. Both teams traded three goals in the opening stanza. Junior Claire Jacobson and sophomore Helen Meigs each scored three goals in the win. Meigs also had five assists in the game. Freshman Christina Michel made nine saves in the win.
