Princeton Splits Pair at Aztec Invitational

SAN DIEGO -- The 20th-ranked Princeton women's water polo team split a pair of games on Sunday at the Aztec Invitational at San Diego State. The Tigers dropped their first game to their sixth-ranked host 10-2 and won their second game 12-6 over Colorado State.
Freshman Lauren Brunner scored three goals to lead Princeton to a 12-6 win over Colorado State as Princeton used a strong first half to run away from the Rams. Princeton scored three goals in the first period and five in the second period to lead 8-2 at the half and kept that six-goal margin at the finish. Freshman Julie Phillips also scored twice and seven others added single goals.

Princeton went 4-1 at the Aztec Invitational with Sunday's results and Princeton is now 11-6 this season. Princeton will continue its Spring Break trip on Tuesday with two games. The Tigers face Long Beach State at 3 p.m. and Pomona-Pitzer at 8 p.m. The LBSU game was originally schedule for Monday but will now be played on Tuesday.
