Women's Water Polo Claims Southern and Eastern Honors
April 28, 2008 | Women's Water Polo
Five members of the Princeton women's water polo team received All-Southern honors this weekend as the CWPA announced its divisional teams. Two players, senior Natalie Kim and sophomore Phoebe Champion, also earned All-Eastern Tournament honors following the weekend's tournament.
Champion, freshman Lauren Brunner and Kim were all named First-Team All-Southern following Princeton's sixth Southern Championship. Junior Claire Jacobson and freshman Tanya Wilcox were named to the second team. For Kim, it marked the fourth year in a row that she was named to the Southern Division's First Team. Champion was a second team selection as a freshman and received first team honors for the first time. The other three received the recognition for the first time in their careers. In addition to being named to the South's First Team, Brunner was named the Southern Division Rookie of the Year.
Following the conclusion of the Eastern Tournament on Sunday afternoon, the league announced the Eastern Tournament team, which featured Kim and Champion, both on the first team. Kim received Eastern recognition for the third time. She was a first team selection last year and a second team choice the previous year.
