In the nightcap, the Tigers again jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but found themselves down 3-2 after a quarter of action. Princeton outscored Maryland 3-2 in the second quarter to go to the half deadlocked at five goals each.
Maryland scored the first goal of the third quarter on a five-meter shot, but Sabb quickly answered for Princeton with the second of her three goals. The teams continued to trade goals in the half with Maryland going ahead 8-7 when Blaise Stanicic scored with 25 seconds left in the quarter.
Princeton fell behind 9-7 with 5:20 left in the final quarter, but scored the game's final three goals to rally for a 10-9 win. Freshman Lauren Brunner scored during a 6 on 5 with 3:48 left to make it 9-8 and then Sabb scored her third goal of the game with 1:16 left to even things up at 9-9. The Tigers stopped Maryland on the ensuing possession, then Champion scored with 36 seconds left off a pass from sophomore Helen Meigs to put Princeton ahead. Maryland had one last possession and Kim came up big in the Tiger goal, making two of her 13 saves before the Tigers were able to gain possession and run out the clock.
