Princeton Tops GW 15-6 in Women's Water Polo

PRINCETON -- The Princeton women's water polo team completed a weekend sweep of its three games with a 15-6 win against George Washington on Sunday afternoon. Senior Claire Jacobson scored three goals to pace the Tiger offense as nine players scored in the win.
Princeton jumped out to a 3-1 lead after a quarter and continued to build its lead throughout the game on its way to its highest goal total of the season. The Tigers led 7-3 at the half and 9-5 after three quarters, before scoring six times in the final frame.
Jacobson's three goals led the way for Princeton as she now has 23 for the season. Freshman Sarah Hutchison, freshman Cari Levine, junior Kara Murphy and sophomore Phoebe Champion each scored two goals in the win for Princeton. The two Tiger goalkeepers split the game, with senior Natalie Kim making six saves in the first half and freshman Christina Michel making nine in the second half.
Princeton is now 15-9 overall and 3-1 in the CWPA Southern Division. The Tigers complete the regular season next weekend at Maryland and George Washington.
