Women's Hockey Announces Incoming Class of Seven

The Princeton women's hockey team has announced its incoming class that will join the team for the 2008-09 season. The group of seven players includes five Americans and two Canadians, and will join a Tiger team that was 14-12-6 last season and finished fifth in the ECAC Hockey standings.
The class is comprised of five forwards: Danielle DiCesare (York, Maine), Julie Johnson (Calgary, Alb.), Heather Landry (Lexington, Mass.), Paula Romanchuk (San Jose, Calif.) and Charissa Stadnyk (Calgary, Alb.); one defenseman: Ann-Marie Elvin (Roxbury, Mass.); and one goaltender: Rachel Weber (Hudson, Wis.).
Danielle DiCesare
Forward ? 5-4 ? Shoots Right
York, Maine ? Assabet Valley
DiCesare won the team's coaches and sportsmanship awards last season while playing with Assabet Valley. A true competitor, DiCesare also won the sportsmanship award in 2006 and is a National Merit Scholar.
Ann-Marie Elvin

West Roxbury, Mass. ? Boston Latin School
Elvin played high school hockey at Boston Latin and served as a team captain as both a junior and a senior. As a senior she scored 29 goals and added 13 assists from the blueline while skating at a +68 rating. A season earlier, she scored 22 goals and added 24 assists as a +72 skater. Elvin played with the U.S. National Under-18 Select Team last summer and has attended several USA Hockey camps and festivals.
Julie Johnson

Calgary, Alb. ? Calgary Flyers
Johnson played for the Calgary Flyers Midget AAA team the past three seasons. She also has appeared and served as a captain on Alberta's U-18 team the past two seasons and played for the Southern Alberta Selects in 2006 and 2007. Johnson's older brother Charlie played hockey at Harvard.
Heather Landry

Lexington, Mass. ? Middlesex School and Assabet Valley
Landry played for both Middlesex School and Assabet Valley. As a senior at Middlesex, she scored 19 goals and had 14 assists for 33 points in 21 games. She was a team captain as Middlesex was finalist in the D2 New England Championships and earned All-ISL honors for the third time in her career. Landry was a member of Assabet Valley's U16 National Championship team in 2007 and went to the quarterfinals with the U19 team last season. Landry's older brother Jon played college hockey at Holy Cross.
Paula Romanchuk

San Jose, Calif. ? San Jose Jr. Sharks
Romanchuk played for the San Jose Jr. Sharks and scored 39 goals and added 19 assists in 47 games last season. A skilled goal-scorer, Romanchuk tallied 62 goals the previous season with 34 assists for 96 points in 44 games. Last year she was recognized as a San Jose Magazine All-Star, the only female hockey player to receive the honor. Romanchuk's father Rod played college hockey at Wisconsin.
Charissa Stadnyk

Stadnyk played for the Calgary Flyers Midget AAA team the past three seasons. Last year she scored 21 goals and had 28 assists for 49 points in 29 games while serving as a team captain. She also played for the Alberta U-18 team at the Canadian Championships. Stadnyk was an assistant captain the previous season.
Rachel Weber

Hudson, Wis. ? Minnesota Thoroughbreds
Weber has compiled a 49-23-17 record with 21 shutouts over the past three seasons with the Minnesota Thoroughbreds. Last season she went 17-6-5 with a 1.58 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage and was invited to the USA Hockey National Development Camp. The previous season she helped her team to a Hockey Night in Boston championship and was received the award as the tournament's top goaltender.
