Princeton, which started the season 3-0 before a double overtime setback last week to Connecticut, has now won its last two games as it begins another winning streak. The Tigers got their fourth win last Saturday in a 4-0 home shutout of Dartmouth and made it two wins in a row by edging Penn State on Wednesday.
Although Princeton outshot Penn State 20-13, the Tigers did all their damage in the 3-2 win in a three minutes spurt in the first half. Down 1-0, senior Katie Kinzer scored at 20:02 to even the score and Princeton went ahead for good when freshman Katie Reinprecht scored 26 seconds later. The Tigers got an insurance goals 2:10 later from freshman Kathleen Sharkey and never looked back in the win. Junior goalkeeper Cynthia Wray made five saves for her first win of the season.
The win was big for the Tigers as Princeton picked up its first win of the season against a ranked opponent. It was also a win against a team that the Tigers have historically struggled against. Princeton entered the game 3-22 all-time against the Nittany Lions and 0-10 in games played at Penn State.
Offensively the Tigers find a pair of freshmen leading the team in scoring. Reinprecht, who has now had recorded points in all five of her games played, lead the team with 12 points on four goals and four assists. She had the game-winning goal and an assist at Penn State. Reinprecht ranks a point ahead of Sharkey, whose five goals leads the team. She also has one assist to her credit for 11 points this season. Senior Holly McGarvie, who had an assist at Penn State, comes next with 10 points and junior Christina Bortz is fourth with nine.

Princeton is now 1-1 against ranked teams this season, falling to then fifth-ranked Connecticut 3-2 in double-overtime, and defeating Penn State 3-2. The Tigers have ranked opponents?Maryland, American and Albany?and teams receiving votes?Providence, Villanova and Columbia?remaining on their schedule.
