Katie Reinprecht Named Ivy Player And Rookie Of the Week In Field Hockey; Tigers Now Ranked 12th
September 30, 2008 | Field Hockey
Princeton freshman Katie Reinprecht scored more goals this past week than many field hockey players score in a career and as many as any Princeton field hockey player has ever scored in a single game. As a result, she has swept the Ivy League's weekly awards.
Reinprecht scored five goals and had three assists in three games to earn Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week honors. She continues to lead Princeton in goals (eight), assists (six) and points (22).
The week started with a 3-2 win over No. 13 Penn State that featured a goal and assist from Reinprecht. She then tied the school single-game record with four goals in a 6-1 win over Yale and finished her week with a pair of assists in a 6-3 win over No. 18 Albany.
Princeton is now 7-1 overall heading into games this weekend at Columbia and then home Sunday against Providence. Princeton jumped three spots in the STX/NFHCA poll to the No. 12 spot this week.
