Men's Water Polo Opens League Weekend With 12-9 Win at GW

The Tigers jumped to a 3-1 lead after a quarter and controlled the game from that point on. Senior Mark Zalewski, the Tigers' leading scorer with 36 goals entering the game, led the team with five goals, four coming at even strength and one coming with the man advantage.
Senior Douglas Wigley was the only other Tiger to tally more than one goal in the win as he scored on a quick counter and also with the man advantage. He also added a pair of assists in the win. Junior goalkeeper Mike Merlone made 11 saves in the win, including a 5-meter save in the fourth quarter.
The win moved the Tigers to 9-9 overall and 5-1 in the CWPA Southern Division with two regular season games remaining to be played. Princeton visits Johns Hopkins tonight. at 7 p.m.
