The weekend begins with a game Friday night against Division III Morrisville State of the SUNYAC and concludes on Sunday afternoon against the University of Windsor. Beginning with the Oct. 30 home opener, GoPrincetonTigers.com will provide live audio and video streaming of all regular-season home games.
Princeton has won 21 and 22 games in each of the past two seasons and has made consecutive visits to the NCAA tournament. The Tigers were the 2008 ECAC Hockey Champions and went to the ECAC's Championship weekend last season. The Tigers return 21 players from last year's team and 17 that were members of both NCAA tournament teams.
Princeton was selected to finish third in the ECAC Hockey Preseason Coaches and Media Poll behind Yale and Cornell. Princeton is also ranked in the Top 10 in both national polls, ranking eighth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and 10th in the USCHO.com Poll.
Morrisville was 5-19-1 last season and 1-14-1 in the SUNYAC. The Mustangs return their top three leading scorers from last season in Andrew Alarie, Rob Sgarbossa and Dana Calderone, who led the team with 12 goals.
Windsor will face the Tigers on Sunday after playing at Cornell on Friday night. The Lancers have been playing since the final weekend in September and are 1-7 in eight games. Windsor has played a pair of NCAA teams in the span, falling 6-2 at both Miami and Michigan. Princeton played Windsor to open the 2004-05 season and won 9-2.
Princeton kicks off the regular season next weekend when it hosts Brown and Yale at Hobey Baker Rink in non-league regular-season games that will not count towards the ECAC Hockey and Ivy League standings.
