Donovan Named Ivy Field Hockey Player of the Week
October 27, 2009 | Field Hockey
Donovan scored her first three goals of the season, all in the first half of the team's 9-0 win at Harvard. The win leaves the first-place Tigers with a game advantage in the League standings with two remaining Ivy weekends. Donovan made her third start of the season in the win and set a career high for goals in a game with her three tallies.
She also extended her scoring streak to three games as she had assists in both of Princeton's previous games and now has eight points this season. This is Donovan's secodn career Ivy League Player of the Week award. She also won the award as a sophomore following the team's win at Harvard.
Donovan and the Tigers remained in the fourth spot in the latest NFHCA Coaches Poll. Princeton can clinch a share of its fifth straight Ivy League Championship with a win on Friday night against Cornell. Princeton also hosts Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday in a non-conference game.
