Volleyball Makes First Ivy Road Trip, Takes On Reigning Champion Yale
October 08, 2009 | Women's Volleyball
The Princeton women's volleyball will make its first Ivy League road trip of the season this weekend, and it won't start in easy fashion. The Tigers will take on the reigning Ivy League champion Yale Bulldogs Friday night at 7 p.m.
Princeton dropped its Ivy League opener last Saturday to Penn and will look for its first road win of 2009 when it heads to Yale Friday. The Bulldogs are currently 11-1, 1-0 in league play, and lead the league in four of the seven major team statistical categories, including both hitting percentage and opponent hitting percentage. The Bulldogs, who were the only team to beat Princeton last season, advanced to the second round of the 2008 NCAA tournament after going 13-1 in league play.
Brown is 4-8 entering the weekend, 0-1 in Ivy League play. Brown leads the league in service aces, but is in the middle of the pack for most other categories. The Bears have won three of their last five.
Princeton is 2-10, 0-1 in league play. Both Sheena Donohue and Lydia Rudnick rank in the Ivy League Top 7 in kills, while Cathryn Quinn ranks eighth in hitting percentage.
